WorldEvents Appoints European Account DirectorInternational Live Events agency WorldEvents has announced the appointment of Irene Kovács as Account Director at the Company’s recently opened European office in Amsterdam. Irene joins Andrew Winterburn, European Development Director, and a growing multilingual account team based in the Netherlands.
Irene’s principle role will be to manage and oversee the account team in the European office. She will Work with Andrew Winterburn to build a hub and spoke network throughout Europe and grow the client list. The office has been open since January 2008 and the team are already coordinating events in destinations such as Brussels, Chicago, Utrecht, Stockholm and Amsterdam for clients such as Astellas and Johnson and Johnson. Irene has 16 years experience in live marketing and events. Prior to working at WorldEvents, Irene worked for 8 years at Nike European Head Quarters working within marketing and event communications: this involved corporate events, sponsorship and developing event concepts to showcase products worldwide. After leaving Nike, Irene set up her own events company for 4 years – working with a range of clients such as Philips and World Online. Irene has also worked for the Netherlands Board of Tourism and Conventions (NBTC), working on the corporate marketing and strategy for the country which involved building the Holland brand and the Orange Tulip logo.
